Yes. I provide in-person as well as online therapy.
Counseling can be beneficial for several issues. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, and more. Many people also find that counselors can greatly help manage personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, marriage issues, and the hassles of day-to-day life. Counselors can provide a fresh perspective on a complex problem or help you get unstuck.
You are not required to book an initial consultation with me. It's your choice. An initial consultation is a chance for you, as a potential client, to briefly and confidentially share information so that the therapist can better understand what you're facing and how it impacts you. In addition, a free consultation is available for you and the therapist to establish if you are a good fit and can potentially work together. The length of the consultation lasts between 10-15 min.
The frequency of counseling sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. However, clients benefit the most from weekly appointments. Sessions are moved gradually bi-weekly, then monthly, and then discontinued when you are well-equipped to handle life's challenges without the support of a therapist.
I do not currently take insurance. However, I can provide you with a Superbil so you can self-file with your insurance company. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Yes, I accept clients regardless of their legal status.
The first session/intake session is for us to begin the process by getting you feel comfortable and start building our relationship together. We discuss things such as what brings you to therapy, your therapeutic goals, and any questions you might have about the therapeutic process.
I encourage you to bring your concerns to your therapist. Sometimes, clients do not feel comfortable with their therapist due to different life experiences, beliefs, or just the feeling that something is missing in the relationship. Do not worry; your therapist will not be upset with you because they want the best for you and will support you in finding a better fit.
